BEIRUT: A con man claiming to be Foreign Minister Adnan Mansour is trying to convince people to make charitable donations, the minister's office warned Friday. Mansour issued a statement in which he said "a number of telephone calls have been received by friends of the minister, who have said an unknown person is calling them and impersonating Minister Mansour and asking them to make financial donations." The statement said the con man was collecting funds on behalf of "helping poor individuals and families." The minister asked anyone who receives such phone calls to immediately contact the authorities.
