A new scheme was launched this week which lets Net users within a 120- mile radius of London save up to 40 per cent on their call charges. ClaraNet buy call time in bulk and pass on the savings. Even with their pounds 8.99 a month subscription, surfers who use the Net for as little as one hour a day will be better off than if they were with a free Internet provider. It's available to any BT phoneline customer. Prime time calls (8am to 6pm) cost 2.8p per minute compared with the standard 3.95p. More info on
