Computer Sciences Corp wins FAA CPDLC Build 1A project contract.
The US Federal Aviation Administration has awarded Computer Sciences Corp of Rockville a multi-million-dollar contract for the development of software for and implementation of the Controller-Pilot Data Link Communications Build 1A project (CPDLC Build 1A).
CPDLC Build 1A will be deployed at the Miami Air Route Traffic Control Centre in June 2003 and is designed to provided more efficient, automated communications between controller and pilot and reduce operational error occurring due to misunderstood voice communications.
