Compromise beats conflict yet again; it's liverpool.
COMMUNICATION and compromise will always be the way forward as workers and managements seek to end difficult and damaging disputes.
And we are delighted that two disputes involving factories in Merseyside have now been settled.
It means an end to the strike action involving 800 workers at the Jacob's Cream Cracker and Club Biscuit factory in Aintree, while potential strike action at Jaguar Land Rover's Halewood factory has been averted.
These are tough times for business and tough times for those on both sides of the traditional industrial divide. But it's always gratifying to see agreements being reached and factories continuing to do what they do best - producing the goods which make them famous.
We commend all those involved in bringing about the respective solutions and hope everyone within the companies is able to enjoy a prosperous New Year.
