Completion of Dargai Pal Small Dam in South Waziristan Agency lauded.

PESHAWAR, October 06, 2010 (Frontier Star): The 4th meeting of the Steering committee of FATA Development Authority was held under the chairmanship of the Governor Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Mr. Owais Ahmed Ghani here at Governors House on Wednesday. According to the press release that the committee discussed a 5-point agenda and was updated on the overall progress and achievements of FDA during the previous fiscal year besides the development program for the current financial year. The committee was satisfied over the pace of progress on development projects during previous fiscal year and appreciated that despite unusual circumstances the Authority had made significant achievement in different development sectors particularly in the Small dams/Energy and Mineral sectors. The committee especially appreciated the completion of Dargai Pal Small Dam in South Waziristan Agency ahead of the scheduled completion period and hoped that the pace of work on other Small Dam projects would also be expedited. The Committee described the Bara Dam as another mega project in FATA and urged that it should be given priority by providing adequate funding for its execution. The meeting reviewed the decision taken in the its 3rd meeting besides annual review of Annual Development program of FATA Development Authority for the year 2009-10 and 2010-2011. The Governor Owais Ghani while talking on different points described the completion of Dargai Pal Small Dam in South Waziristan Agency as a significant progress in the socio-economic development of the respective area and hoped that FDA would expedite work on other similar projects as well. The meeting offered Fateha for a member of the Steering Committee Malik Ajmal Khan, who passed away a few days ago.
