Compass to manage, lease Equi-Park in Suffolk Cnty

COMPASS Management and Leasing will take over the management of Equi-Park, an eight-building light industrial/office complex located in Ronkonkoma, New York, the company announced WJMC-LI Realty, headed by Phyllis Hornung, will continue as leasing agent.

The 576,638 square foot complex, located on the Veteran's Memorial Highway corridor just south of the Long Island Expressway, contains 48,000 square feet of office space, 428,650 square feet of light industrial space and 99,988 square feet of research and development space on 44 acres of land, as well as parking for 1,574 cars.

The complex, built in the late 1970s, was expanded in 1984 to accommodate the growing demand for high-tech and research development facilities near MacArthur Airport, the New York metropolitan area's fourth-largest airport, which is just minutes south of Equi-Park. In 1990, all roofs were replaced, fire alarm systems were upgraded, exterior walls were waterproofed and back-flow prevention devices were installed to protect the water supply. Major tenants include East-West Industries, Digital Metcom Inc., Quality King Distributors, J.R. Gomez and Sons and U.S. Leisure-Over and Back Europe Ltd.
