Compaq has announced the budget Deskpro Workstation AP230.

The Workstation contains a single processor and can be used for mainstream CAD and CAE applications, digital content creation, software development applications and applications in the finance segment that do not require dual processor capability.

It comes with the NVDIA Quadro 2 EX and Matrox Millennium G450 dual head graphics models with the NVDIA Quadro 2 MXR optional. Also, five PCI slots have been included together with an AGP slot and five bays for other options.

The product is expected to be available for purchase by mid-April with the price tag of GBP949.
