Oct 9, 2006Virgin Atlantic is to provide passengers with live text news throughout their flight. The airline already has one of the best in-flight entertainment systems, available to all passengers. The service will give travelers up to date news stories, as they happen, straight to their seat back TV. Sky News, will be the provider of the news content, which will include breaking news, business news, sports news and match results, celebrity gossip and weather information. Our image is from the Upper Class cabin. Virgin also says that with the new and most impressive Clubhouse at Heathrow T3 working extremely smoothly it is prepared to discuss with other airlines a guest arrangement "at a price" as a senior executive put it. Easily the largest executive lounge at the airport, and approached via a marble staircase, it features a bar, deli and brasserie, the Cowshed spa, and an office area. Virgin Trains has achieved a new train speed record on the 401-mile route from Glasgow - London with a nonstop journey time of three hours and 55 minutes - an impressive average speed of 102.5 mph - beating the previous verified southbound speed record of four hours and 14 minutes set by British Rail's Advanced Passenger Train in the 1980s. Current fastest scheduled time is around 4.5 hours southbound which compares with a city center time of something under four hours by plane, depending on security holdups. http://www.virgintrains.co.uk Oct 2, 2006
