Chesapeake Lodging Trust has entered into a definitive agreement to acquire the 613-room Denver (www.denver.org) Marriott City Center for $119 million, or approximately $194,000 per key. The Trust intends to fund the acquisition with available cash on hand and by borrowing under its revolving credit facility. Completion of the proposed acquisition is expected within the next 30 days, subject to satisfaction of customary closing conditions. Holiday Inn Express tops list of brands with most rooms in U.S. pipeline. Smith Travel Research has listed InterContinental Hotels Group's Holiday Inn Express as the hotel brand with the greatest number of rooms in the U.S. hotel pipeline. The brand is expecting nearly 21,000 guest rooms to open through 2014.
