Mar 19, 2007Airbus, in conjunction with Lufthansa and Qantas, will fly development A380s to New York JFK and Los Angeles International next week to demonstrate the aircraft to US media and to test JFK and LAX facilities. Manage/m comprises 15 modules covering every aspect of MRO management. Some are an extension of LHT's eServices that were available via its corporate website while others are still under development. "Eighty percent of the content is up and running, and by end next year the Web suite should be complete," Customer Support Manager-manage/m Erik Abels confirmed, noting the software is an add-on and available free of charge for operators who have contracted some or all of their MRO to LHT. "We are a MRO provider, not an IT provider. We would not sell this as a standalone product. It's an interface between Lufthansa Technik and the operator, resulting in a substantially easier and more efficient handling of the MRO management tasks." Abels said. Mar 16, 2007
Lufthansa Technik launched a dedicated Web suite allowing aircraft operators to monitor and manage all aspects of their fleets' technical operations via the Internet. Dubbed manage/m, the toolbox of Web-based modules is designed to "give the operator total control over the MRO requirements and operations of his fleet, anytime and everywhere," LHT VP-Customer Services-Aircraft Maintenance & Engineering Alexander Heilmann told AirguideOnline in Frankfurt.
