Lufthansa released preliminary financial results for first-half 2006 that showed a profit of [euro]85 million ($107.3 million) compared to [euro]0.2 million in net earnings for the same period in 2005.Operating profit increased 17.4% to [euro]297 million from [euro]253 million, while revenues climbed 12.9% to [euro]9.6 billion. LH said the addition of the stakes acquired in Swiss International Air Lines and the Eurowings companies should be taken into account when making year-over-year comparisons. The company will release complete data Friday. LH lost [euro]98 million in the first quarter, suggesting that its second-quarter profit came to [euro]183 million on revenues of [euro]5.15 billion. It earned [euro]116 million in the second quarter of 2005. Bloomberg News reported that 14 analysts surveyed by the organization forecast first-half profits of [euro]95 million. Jul 27, 2006
