Indian carrier Kingfisher Airlines has confirmed the launch date of its new route from London Heathrow to Delhi, with daily flights from the end of March. Kingfisher was granted rights for seven international routes earlier this month:New Delhi to London, Hong Kong, Bangkok and Dubai; and Mumbai to Colombo, Bangkok and Dubai. The airline has now confirmed details of its London-Delhi service, to launch on March 28. Flight IT002 will depart Heathrow T4 at 2105, arriving in Delhi at 1020 the next day, with the return leg IT001 leaving India at 1320 and landing back in the UK at 1810. It will operate Airbus A330-200s on the route, says the carrier. Feb 17, 2010

India's Kingfisher Airlines plans to launch seven new international routes to Europe, Asia and the Middle East. India's government has granted it traffic rights to start the new services, it says. The seven new routes are: New Delhi-London, New Delhi-Hong Kong, New Delhi-Bangkok, New Delhi-Dubai, Mumbai-Colombo, Mumbai-Bangkok, and Mumbai-Dubai.

Kingfisher Airlines was granted traffic rights from New Delhi to London Heathrow (its first European destination), Hong Kong, Bangkok and Dubai and from Mumbai to Colombo, Bangkok and Dubai. No launch date was announced. Kingfisher will operate A330s to LHR and HKG and A320 family aircraft on the remaining routes. Chairman and CEO Vijay Mallya said it "may even look at inducting new aircraft into our fleet sooner than planned so that we are fully geared to capitalize on the upturn.
