Honeywell will shift jobs to Asia. Honeywell Aerospace will cut 420 manufacturing jobs at its north Phoenix facility, the company said Wednesday. Honeywell said the jobs will shift to Indonesia and Malaysia and noted that the decision is part of a plan to remain globally competitive in the aerospace market. "The company has to continue evaluating its operations and business practices in all locations in order to best serve (its) customers," a spokesman said. AIM-9X enters the US Navy's Weapons System User program. A Raytheon AIM-9X Sidewinder short-range air-to-air missile was employed in the Navy's Weapon System User program late last year. The Weapons System User program focuses on examining cutting-edge tactical employment by the warfighter, and this event demonstrated the maturity of the AIM-9X weapon system. Feb 28, 2008

Helicopter demand remains steady. Honeywell projects the market for civilian helicopters will increase by up to 50% by 2012, with 4,450 craft going into service in the next four years. Corporations, police and emergency medical services will provide the majority of demand. Feb 26, 2008

Honeywell said BOC Aviation selected its 131-9A APU for engine starting, electrical power and air-conditioning capacity across the lessor's fleet of Airbus A320s to be delivered from 2010 through 2012. Feb 26, 2008
