Hilton Hotels Corporation announced today the top developers and hotels among owners of its focused service brands, including Hampton Inn[R], Hampton Inn & Suites[R], Hilton Garden Inn[R] and Homewood Suites by Hilton[R]. Each brand recognized a Developer of the Year, Best Conversion, Deal of the Year and Outstanding Achievement for the developers who had the greatest number of project approvals or who developed one or more unique hotels that helped enhance the brand[sup.1]s image in 2008. Together, the brands also recognized a Multi-Brand Developer of the Year who made significant contributions to the Hilton Family of Hotels with the most number of project approvals in 2008, as well as a Lifetime Achievement Award for longevity in the hospitality development arena and loyalty to the Hilton Family of Hotels. To be considered, all hotels in the candidates[sup.1] Hilton Family portfolio had to be rated high-quality and in good status, and could represent a combination of new projects, renovations and conversions. The Hilton Family of Hotels was presented with a Stevie Award in the category of Customer Service Complaints Team of the Year in the third annual Stevie Awards for Sales & Customer Service announced in Las Vegas earlier this month. The Stevie Awards for Sales & Customer Service honor and generate public recognition of the accomplishments of sales and customer service professionals worldwide. More than 500 entries from companies of all sizes and in virtually every industry were submitted to this year[sup.1]s competition. There are 27 categories for customer service professionals, including Contact Center of the Year, Award for Innovation in Customer Service, and Customer Service Department of the Year; as well as 41 categories for sales professionals, ranging from Global Sales Leader of the Year to Sales Training Program of the Year to Sales Department of the Year. Members of the Awards' Board of Distinguished Judges & Advisors and their staffs selected Stevie Award winners from among the Finalists. In preparation for daylight saving - when clocks will be set one hour ahead on Sunday, March 8 - Hilton Garden Inn announced today its annual [sup.3]Give Back the Hour[sup.2] promotion, extending check-out time by two hours.(Extending check-out is subject to availability at participating Hilton Garden Inn locations on Sunday, March 8, 2009). In observance of this big day, guests staying at participating Hilton Garden Inn locations will be treated to an extended check-out time of 2:00 p.m. (instead of the standard noon check-out) on March 8 at no additional cost. Travelers will be notified of this one-day extended late check-out upon arriving at the hotel. Mar 2, 2009
