Compact speed controller for brushless DC motors.

Maxon Precision Motors' DECS 50/5 (digital EC controller sensorless) controller drives brushless DC motors without Hall sensors. Typical sensorless drives such as pumps and fan applications can be created because of integrated controlling algorithms. The input voltage range of 10V to 50V enables flexibility and adaptability. In continuous operation, an output current of 5A of the power stage is permissible, giving it a maximum output performance of 250W in a device that is the size of a business card. The speed value can be set via an integrated potentiometer or an analog set value. The 1-Q amplifier can be operated at up to a maximum speed of 80,000 rpm.
