CompTIA Introduces New Ambassador Program.

More than 40 industry leaders will contribute to effort to broaden industry engagement

OAKBROOK TERRACE, Ill. -- CompTIA, the non-profit trade association for the information technology (IT) industry, said today 48 industry leaders will serve as CompTIA ambassadors, a new program aimed at broadening the association's engagement throughout the industry.

"Our ambassador program will harness the talents and energies of the most active, engaged and committed CompTIA members while formally recognizing those who make such a positive impact representing the association." said Annette Taber, vice president, channel strategies, CompTIA.

"These leaders, who have demonstrated support of CompTIA, will help us actively recruit new members and grow industry engagement in CompTIA programs," she added.

Leading the CompTIA Ambassador program are Stuart Selbst, founder, president and chief executive officer of Stuart Selbst Consulting, and Mike Semel, vice president and chief operating officer, XiloCore. They are the co-chairmen of the CompTIA Ambassador Advisory Council. Aaron Woods, director, NARS Relationship and Partner Programs, Xerox Strategic Partners and Alliances, is council vice chairman.

CompTIA ambassadors play a number of essential roles, including serving as mentors to new members; listening to member feedback; and providing input and recommendations on new products, services and programs.

Taber said the ambassadors will provide additional "feet on the street O listening to what's happening in the industry and providing feedback and ideas to CompTIA."

The current roster of CompTIA ambassadors mirrors the association's membership, which includes representation from all segments of the IT industry. This includes technology solution providers, hardware vendors, software companies, distributors and affiliate partners.
