Community projects get big boost.

LOCAL community projects in North Warwickshire have shared an pounds 80,000 handout from the borough and county councils.

Grants were equally divided between the four Area Forums, with the largest amount of pounds 18,244 going to the Peer Mentoring Scheme, to train 48 students at four schools as mentors to offer practical and emotional support to children about to move to secondary school.

Also being helped are the Locality Youth Forums, which enable young people to discuss local issues and influence decision making, and receive pounds 8,000.

Other projects receiving donations include Hartshill Pavilion (pounds 2,000), Atherstone Holiday Club (pounds 2,400) and Lofty Ambitions (pounds 4,000).
