Commercial manager for growing photo firm.

AWA AW RD?WINNING photographer Maria Farrelly has appointed PR professional Cerys Palmer as communications and business development manager as part of a restructure and expansion plan for her growing businesses.

Ms Palmer, 36, formerly of Petersens PR andR and Working Word W Public Relations in Cardi, started the role last month.

Based in Newport, she will carry out an umbrella communications role across the two business areas of Maria Farrelly Photography Ltd and wedding blog "Cwtch e Bride".

Her primary responsibility is to develop the commercial division of the photography division and raise its prole.

She will also be responsible for marketing Cwtch e Bride and managing new business interests for the site's advertising activity.

Ms Farrelly was voted Best Regional Wedding Photographer W in e Welsh W National Wedding W Awards in 2011 and 2012 and Cwtch e Bride won Best New Business in 2013 under the same awards scheme.

She said: "For some time I had been thinking of appointing a communications professional to help raise the prole of specic areas of my business, as I have a well-established reputation in the UK wedding industry.

"It was imperative that whoever I employed would also have a proven track record in business development, as it is part of a structured plan to grow the commercial division. I physically don't have the resource to do this as my surplus time is ploughed into carrying out the demand for photography projects and further establishing Cwtch e Bride."

Ms Palmer has more than 12 years' experience in the PR andR and communications. industry and before returning to her home city of Cardi in 2006, she spent six years building her career in London.

She worked for a number of agencies including Ogilvy Public Relations.
