Commemorative stamp celebrating 34 years of UAE-China ties issued.

Summary: Two young stamp collectors gifted commemorative stamps

Dubai: Demand for the latest commemorative stamp celebrating 34 years of diplomatic relations between the UAE and China has been high, the Emirates Post Group (EPG) said.

EPG issued the stamp to mark the historic visit of Chinese President Xi Jinping to the UAE in July.

Demand from stamp collectors soared after the visit, and one such request came from eight-year-old philatelist Asmaa Humaid Eisa Al Suwaidi and her sister, Asmaa.

The group's acting chief commercial director Obaid Mohammad Al Qutami and chief happiness and positivity officer Yousuf Mohammad Siddiq Al Khaja at the Philatelic Centre, gifted the stamps to the two girls at its headquarters in Deira.

"Asmaa was one of the very first registered philatelists to seek this latest commemorative stamp," Al Qutami said. "At Emirates Post Group, we look for ways to encourage the art of stamp collecting. It is an educational, goal-oriented hobby that creates a community of diversity, as well as an appreciation for art and history."

The commemorative stamps are for sale at Dh3 and Dh13 for the first-day cover sheets.
