Commander Warns Enemies to Stay Away from Iran's Presidential Election.

Summary: TEHRAN (FNA)- Deputy Chief of Staff of the Iranian Armed Forces Brigadier General Massoud Jazzayeri warned enemies to stay away from Iran's June presidential election, stressing that Tehran will give a crushing response to any hostile move or meddling in its political process.

"God willing, the June presidential elections will be held in full peace; in the same regard, the Law Enforcement Force (police) has made the necessary preparations to fulfill the duties which have been entrusted on it," Jazzayeri said on Saturday.

He warned enemy states to seriously avoid meddling in Iran's domestic affairs, specially in the upcoming presidential election, and said if they don't respect Iran's warning, "we will adopt a tit-for-tat hit policy and strike them a blow in response to each (enemy) blow".

"Therefore, those regimes which are after unconventional methods should know that we have a firm resolve in both hard and soft (battle)fields," the commander noted.

On February 27, Iranian Intelligence Minister Heidar Moslehi said his forces are having a close watch on the possible seditionist moves during the upcoming presidential election due to be held in Iran in June.

Asked about the intelligence ministry's measures to monitor possible seditionist moves in the presidential election, Moslehi told reporters on the sidelines of a cabinet meeting here in Tehran, "Yes, the intelligence ministry is conducting heavy monitoring in this regards."

Iranian officials on many occasions have warned that enemies are trying to hatch plots to create a chaotic atmosphere in the upcoming presidential election in Iran.

In January, Supreme Leader of the Islamic Revolution Ayatollah Seyed Ali Khamenei warned that enemies have hatched plots to hinder mass-participation of the Iranian nation in the upcoming presidential election, describing it as the "tangible" goal of the enemies.

In September, the Iranian interior ministry announced that the country will hold the next presidential election on June 14, 2013.
