Comedy coming to town.
TWO comedy shows have been announced for the Journal Tyne Theatre.
Paul Merton and duo Armstrong & Miller will be hot-footing it to the
Newcastle venue next year, with tickets on sale tomorrow. Ben Miller and
Alexander Armstrong will be hitting the road in autumn 2010, landing at
the Tyne Theatre on November 12.
With their mix of the beautifully observed and the utterly barmy, Ben and "Xander" will be performing a parade of characters from their extensive dressing-up box and wig-store, including the street-talking WWII chav pilots, the filthy alter-egos of Flanders and Swann, Terry Devlin, the royal correspondent who really knows the royals, Dennis Lincoln-Park, the accidentprone culture buff, the Frank Dad and many more. They said: "We are cock-ahoop to be stepping out on tour in Autumn 2010.
Expect all your favourite Armstrong & Miller characters and sketches in a market-fresh brand spanking new show." Paul Merton, meanwhile, will be in town on May 7 next year. One of Britain's bestloved entertainers, his show promises to be one of the must-see spring events of 2010.
