Columbitech unveils FIPS 140-2 certified Mobile VPN solution.
Mobile VPN provider Columbitech announced on Tuesday its FIPS 140-2 certified Mobile VPN with strong security and session persistence for public safety agencies and other emergency service departments.
The company said its software-based mobility solution has successfully completed testing from the US National Institute of Standards and Technology (NIST) to receive the military-grade FIPS 140-2 certification.
The Mobile VPN is based on the Transport Layer Protocol (TLS) standard and offers multifactor authentication and strong encryption to ensure transmitted data remains secure.
In addition, the solution's session persistence enables persistent wireless access to all office applications. Even in areas with poor cellular coverage, the Mobile VPN resumes the session as the device roams between networks. By ensuring uninterrupted remote access, it allows workers to complete more tasks in the field, the company said.
The solution is network-agnostic and can be deployed with existing servers and devices. No pricing details were disclosed.
