Colourful ingredients; There are lots of cheap and clever ways to give your kitchen a bright new look.
Kitchen designers agree that most buyers choose white or cream cabinets for their new kitchen.
Opting for a bold colour for your kitchen may seem like a brave step but there are many ways to add colour to the room.
CABINETS Modern cabinets come in a range of stunning colours, from vibrant orange and zesty lime to cool blue and deep aubergine.
If unsure how colourful cabinets may suit your kitchen, try painting a large piece of cardboard with the colour you like and placing it over an existing door to see how it looks.
There is no law against choosing more than one colour of cabinet. Consider picking coloured lower cabinets matched against white cabinets overhead.
Or, if your kitchen is big enough, pick a different colour of cabinets for your kitchen island. High-gloss cabinets give a bold colour, adding depth as well as shine.
SPLASHBACK & TILES Inject an eye-catching splash of colour with your choice of splashbacks and kitchen tiles.
Consider a brightly coloured splashback to contrast beautifully with dark-coloured cabinets.
COUNTERTOPS Add some sparkle to your kitchen with a dazzling worktop. Keeping the counter the same shade as your cabinets can give a very sleek look.
But opting for a bold contrasting colour can add punch to your design.
PAINT A brightly coloured feature wall is a simple way to add colour to your kitchen. But for a stunning effect, don't just leave the colour on one wall. Carry the colour further by matching it with anything from splashbacks to tea towels. ACCESSORIES Everything from bread bins to chopping boards can be used to add a dash of colour into your kitchen.
Kitchen design expert Jacqueline Tomlinson, of Reface Scotland, said: "There is such a huge choice when it comes to colourful new kitchens.
"Some prefer to add colour through splashbacks - which we can offer in a large variety of wonderful shades from a lovely bright orange or red to a stunning dark grey.
"There is no limit to how bright and beautiful your kitchen can be. And refacing your kitchen can cost a lot less than starting from scratch."
