Colorado Dentists Give Away Millions in Free Dental Care During the Holidays.

DENVER -- Every holiday season since 1985 Colorado-based Comfort Dental has opened its doors for "Care Day," an annual event that provides free dental care to Colorado citizens in need. Since that time, the dentists of Comfort Dental have given away millions of dollars worth of dental care, and this year the tradition will continue on December 23, with the dentists expecting to see thousands of patients on that day. The care will include everything from teeth cleaning to extractions.

As part of a special "Christmas Wish," created by local radio station KS107.5, Comfort Dental has identified patients who have severe dental needs, but no ability to pay for care. The cases include a mom who lost her teeth to surgery in 1997 and has been toothless ever since; a woman whose teeth are falling out due to the affects of diabetes; a woman who suffers from severe migraines and toothaches and is in desperate need of a tooth extraction and dentures; a woman who has lost multiple teeth during her lifetime and is in need of dentures and a young man with an impacted and infected wisdom tooth that causes tremendous pain and needs to be removed.

"All of these people are suffering from their conditions, and unfortunately don't have the financial wherewithal to pay for treatment and care," said Dr. Neil Norton of Comfort Dental. "Comfort Dental has always been a leader in providing fair-priced dental care, and our annual Care Day event gives us the opportunity to treat patients who are in real trouble. I can't think of giving anything better than good dental health for the holidays."

Comfort Dental has traditionally priced their dental services below industry averages. The more affordable prices give patients throughout the state access to dental treatment and care they wouldn't be able to afford elsewhere.

All Colorado Comfort Dental offices participate in Care Day by offering one free dental procedure to each patient on a first-come, first-served basis. This year, Comfort Dental anticipates seeing over 2,000 patients on Care Day, giving citizens an estimated value of $600,000 in free services. Since the inception of Care Day, Comfort Dental has donated about $6 million dollars in free dental care to the community.
