Colombia : Avanza Plan of Migratory Measures in the border area of ??La Guajira.

The Director for the Development and Border Integration of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, Vctor Bautista, and the Governor (e) of the Department of La Guajira, Tania Buitrago Gonzlez, set up health and childhood tables, chaired by the Vice Minister of Health, Luis Fernando Correa, and the Director of the ICBF, Karen Cecilia Abudinen.

Both the representatives of the hospital institutions and those working on the subject of childhood, exposed the migratory problem that affects each sector, for which the following measures were taken:

With regard to health, the Vice Minister of Health announced the implementation of the health plan with emphasis on public health, the allocation of resources for the strengthening of the Public Network, the prioritization of health projects for the border, the streamlining of the audit process for the payment of health services provided to the migrant population, the creation of mobile units in strategic sites for ambulatory care for migrants, prioritization in vaccination, maternal health, perinatal and communicable diseases, and the assurance of Colombians returned together with their family group.

On children's issues, the Director of the Family Welfare Institute (ICBF) undertook to provide protection to migrant children in street situations who are without family members; for children over five years of age, inclusion in the externship programs for school complementation was proposed; it was also established that the children of migrants who are established in a site will be assigned seats in the CDI.

Finally, the implementation of the Unified Command Post (PMU) was established, which will be held with the participation of national, departmental and municipal institutions, in order to follow up on the actions that each entity must carry out.

The tables counted with the participation of the representatives of the 16 hospitals of La Guajira, Procuradura, Migracin Colombia, Ombudsman, deputies of the Departmental Assembly, Secretariat of Indigenous Affairs, Udgred, Secretary of Government of Riohacha, and the Mayor of Distraction.
