Collision halts city traffic.

A BUS and a lorry collided at the junction of Sky Blue Way and Binley Road, Coventry, shortly after 7.20am today.

The X66 Leicester-to-Coventry bus - which was empty at the time - was turning right from Walsgrave Road when it collided with the lorry, owned by CDL Construction, of Egham, Surrey.

The bus driver, who has not been named, escaped with minor injuries and was taken to Coventry and Warwickshire Hospital.

James Gimblett, aged 43, who was driving the lorry, and his passenger, 32-year-old Paul Rogers, were uninjured but left shaken.

There were major traffic delays while officers tried to clear the road.
