GLOBAL property consultancy, Colliers International is to open an office in Liverpool city centre as it steps up its activities in Merseyside.
Colliers will take 390 sq ft of office space in the Grade II-listed India Building in Water Street on a three-year lease.
Key clients and projects in the region include St Modwen's Project Jennifer scheme in Great Homer Street and the PS175m Cains Brewery Village - a mixed-use development site within the Baltic Triangle area.
Director and head of North West, Liverpool and Manchester city regions, Andrew McFarlane, said: "Our North West team is already working on some large and complex projects in the city.
"This new office will allow our teams, who already spend time travelling in and out of Liverpool on a weekly basis, a base from which to support our business growth ambitions in Merseyside."
"Although the move is small in terms of square footage, we see this deal as a significant statement on our intentions to cement our position as a long term partner of the City of Liverpool, and an influential player in the Northern Powerhouse movement. Over time, we expect to grow our presence in Liverpool." The decision to open a Liverpool based has been welcomed by Liverpool's elected Mayor, Joe Anderson.
He said: "Colliers International is a globally renowned real estate firm with offices in major cities all over the world, so I am pleased that they have chosen Liverpool for their new office.
"We have been championing better connectivity between our Northern cities for some time and it's great to see businesses like Colliers showing the same commitment to the cause by structuring their business to mirror the Northern Powerhouse rationale."
