College students build partnership; business ROUND UP.

COLLEGE students will soon be training with one of the world's leading construction companies.

BAM Construct UK Ltd, which has recently secured a pounds 10.6 million contract with Network Rail to develop and upgrade facilities at Waterloo Station in London, is currently working on a range of projects at Ysbyty Glan Clwyd in Bodelwyddan.

The first phase of the partnership with Coleg Llandrillo Cymru will see students undertake periods of work experience on-site with BAM, learning the latest techniques and industry skills.

Representatives from BAM will be present to give talks and advice on careers at Llandrillo's construction evening next Wednesday (May 25) at the Rhos-on-Sea Campus from 4pm in the college's pounds 8million marine and built environment research centre.

BAM project manager Rob Bailey said: "BAM are delighted to be working with the college to provide opportunities for young people to see the latest construction techniques being put into practice in an important local building project."
