Area college seniors may be wondering something like this quote from Dr. Seuss: "How did it get so late so soon?''

And soon is the operative word for commencement exercises.

Here's the lineup on graduations at local colleges and universities.

Anna Maria College, Paxton: Father John F. Madden, pastor of St. John Parish in Worcester, will receive an honorary doctorate of public administration and address the graduates at the college's commencement at 10 a.m. May 16 at The Hanover Theatre for the Performing Arts in Worcester.

Assumption College, Worcester: A retired Iraq War commander and Assumption alumnus, Army Maj. Gen. Robert Catalanotti, will receive an honorary degree and address the class of 2015 at 10 a.m. May 16 on the school's H.L. Rocheleau Field.

Becker College, Worcester, Leicester: Karen S. Rohan, president of Aetna Inc., will deliver the keynote address at the school's 227th commencement ceremony at 11 a.m. May 9 at The Hanover Theatre for the Performing Arts in Worcester. She will receive an honorary doctorate degree of humane letters.

Clark University, Worcester: Alumnus Matt Goldman, co-founder of Blue Man Group and the Blue School in Manhattan, will be the speaker. Procession begins at noon May 17 on the campus green. Mr. Goldman will receive an honorary doctor of humane letters degree during the ceremonies.

College of the Holy Cross, Worcester: Bryan A. Stevenson, founder and executive director of Equal Justice Initiative in Montgomery, Ala., will receive an honorary degree and address graduates at 10:30 a.m. May 22 at Holy Cross.

Cummings School of Veterinary Medicine at Tufts University, Grafton: The ceremony will be held at 3 p.m. May 17 at the Agnes Varis Campus Center on the Grafton campus.

Fitchburg State University, Fitchburg: FSU President Robert V. Antonucci will deliver the address at the undergraduate commencement ceremony at 10 a.m. May 16 on the main quadrangle. This will be President Antonucci's last major public event as head of the institution. He plans to retire in June.

MCPHS University: Dr. Armin Ernst will give the commencement speech at 10 a.m. May 9 at Gillette Stadium in Foxboro. Campuses -- Boston, Worcester and Manchester.

Mount Wachusett Community College, Gardner: Kevin Berg, executive vice president of CBS Network Entertainment Group in L.A. will speak to graduates at 6 p.m. May 20 in the college's Fitness and Wellness Center.

Nichols College, Dudley: Roger Berkowitz, the president and CEO of Legal Sea Foods, will receive an honorary degree and give the commencement address at 10:30 a.m. May 9 in the school's Copper Beach Quad.

Quinsigamond Community College, Worcester: The 50th Anniversary Commencement will be held at 4 p.m. May 21 at the DCU Center. College officials have not yet named a speaker.

Salter College, West Boylston: The commencement ceremony will be held at 6 p.m. June 12 in Mechanics Hall in Worcester.

University of Massachusetts Medical School, Worcester: Dr. Victor J. Dzau, president of the Institute of Medicine, will deliver the commencement address during a ceremony that begins at noon May 31 on the campus green.

Worcester Polytechnic Institute, Worcester: Dr. Bernard A. Harris Jr., an astronaut who became the first African- American to walk in space and who went on to become the founder and president of the Harris Foundation, will speak to WPI's graduating class during the school's 147th commencement, which will begin at 11 a.m. May 16 on the Quad. He will receive an honorary doctor of science degree.

Worcester State University, Worcester: Boston's Harpoon Brewery co-founder and CEO Dan Kenary will speak at WSU's commencement, scheduled for 10 a.m. May 16 at the DCU Center. He will receive an honorary doctorate degree of humane letters.
