Collective efforts stressed for disease surveillance.

LAHORE -- Director Provincial Health Development Centre (PHDC) Dr Sohail Saqlain has stressed collective efforts to improve capacity in disease surveillance and response.

He was speaking at the concluding session of a three-day training workshop held here Thursday in collaboration with Provincial Health Development Centre of Punjab Health Department and Field Epidemiology and Laboratory Training Programme (FELTP) for Provincial Rapid Response teams.

He appreciated the efforts done by FELTP both at federal and provincial levels to improve capacity in disease surveillance and response.

He proposed that PHDC and FELTP should work together to train public health staff in disease surveillance so that they could further provide the same training in their districts.

Many senior medical officers from the Pakistan Army, doctors and entomologists attended the training course .

The course was designed by FELTP, Pakistan with all technical resources of Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDCP), USA.
