Colin's set to change future.

Colin Garbutt has been appointed regeneration director at the Newcastle office of project management and construction consultants, Hall & Partners.

Colin, pictured, who lives in Cramlington, brings over 37 years' experience of the housing sector. He joins the Home Group where he was latterly director of marketing and communications.

He said: "The regeneration of older urban areas is currently one of the greatest challenges within the housing sector. It also represents tremendous opportunities for neighbourhoods to decide their own future.

"Hall & Partners already have a first class reputation for their work in this field. This new post is to head a dedicated department which will build on their previous work in finding innovative ways to regenerate estates and whole neighbourhoods.

"Although the team will be based in Newcastle, we are already working throughout the country at a very local level. We listen to what people want and then distil these ideas into what is practically and economically possible.

"On the larger scale, the work is to understand national policy and then make it happen locally."

Ray Hall, director of Hall & Partners, added: "Colin's reputation within the housing sector comes before him and we see his appointment as strengthening the services we offer. Regeneration is currently high on the political agenda and investment within the sector will continue to grow."
