Cold Fusion launches world's first herbally-active protein bars.

Cold Fusion Foods, a Seattle-based healthy food marketer, has launched what it describes as "the world's first herbally-active and protein enriched frozen juice bars." The new products was launched at the Natural Products Expo West trade show at the Anaheim Convention Center on March 24, 25 and 26.

Cold Fusion Protein Enriched Juice Bars come in a variety of flavors, blending delicious all natural fruit juices with nature's best herbs, 100% RDA of antioxidants A, C and E, plus chromium and manganese to aid stamina and muscle recovery, enhance physical and mental performance, combat cell-damaging free radicals and boost metabolism. The bars add 12 grams of superior balanced protein for bodybuilders, triathletes, swimmers, weight trainers, and fitness-minded people in general, who need to boost their protein intake as part of their dietary requirements. All of the juice bars are fat-, cholesterol-, and lactose-free; and are 150 calories.

Cold Fusion reports that the bars are formulated with superior quality concentrated whey proteins "with excellent digestibility" and the right balance of essential and non-essential amino acids needed to optimize your health and performance. Cold Fusion Protein Enriched Juice Bars are available in "Energizing," which supplies 500 mg. of Siberian Ginseng ("more than most supplements, according to Cold Fusion), Guarana, Kola Nut and Gotu Kola; as well as "Soothing," which contains "a unique blend of Kava-Kava, Chamomile, Valerian Root, and Passionflower." "Energizing" and "Soothing" are both available in Orange Passion and Key Lime flavors.

The bars are also described as an excellent source of branched-chain amino acids (BCAA), supplying 2.5-3 grams of L-leucine, L-isoleucine and L-valine. BCAA are important during exercise and physical activity because, after glycogen depletion, the body uses BCAA preferentially. With BCAA available to the body, muscle catabolism and subsequent muscle loss is prevented.

Cold Fusion Herbally-Enhanced Juice Bars, which have 95 calories, come in both "Energizing Lemon" and "Soothing Mixed Berry," as well as "Enlightening Tropical," a third juice-herb blend which contains Ginkgo Biloba, Kava-Kava and Damiana. Cold Fusion, which is committed to bringing convenient, healthy, nutritional foods to today's busy lifestyles, suggests that the Protein Enriched Juice Bars be consumed for an extra boost prior to workouts, and the herbally-enhanced bars as a post-workout refresher. Cold Fusion frozen juice bars are available in premier health clubs, spas and specialty sports stores in Southern California and Seattle, and will soon be available in New York, Miami and Arizona, as well as online at www.coldfusionfoods.com

To promote the bars, Cold Fusion is co-sponsoring the Bud Light California State Cross-Country Championship Series, now in its 9th year. The various mountain bike competitions run from April 15 throughout the summer, ending September 24. The series is expected to feature over 3,500 riders, amateurs and professionals, and several thousand spectators around the state.
