Cohen of Newmark honored by New America Network

William G. Cohen, executive director of Newmark Real Estate Services, New America Network's New York affiliate, was the recipient of the Office Council Leadership award at the Network's recent Annual Convention at the Doral Hotel in Miami Beach.

"New America Network has become the nation's largest network of independent commercial real estate brokers due to the tireless efforts of our member affiliates," said Network President Gerald Finn, announcing the winners of the "Networking Awards." "These award winners have shown the dedication, commitment and spirit of cooperation that best exemplifies the ideals of New America Network."

Council Leadership Awards were presented to the individuals who have been most dedicated to and actively involved in each of the Network's Industrial, Office, Investment and Retail Specialty Marketing Councils. Cohen received the Office Council award for his work in developing a corporate client list that is being used by approximately 2,000 of the Network's professionals.

In addition, Cohen was instrumental in such New America-initiated transactions as the $4 million sale of 140 East 39th Street for the Republic of Guinea's mission; a 12,000-square-foot lease for Telecom USA at 80 Broad Street; and currently has leases pending in excess of 200,000 square feet for Airborne Express.
