Cocktail bus will take it to the Mex.
AARRIBA arriba! The Patron bus is coming to town this weekend, bringing a Mexican street food festival and a special Birmingham tequila cocktail.
Thomas Matthews, mixologist at The Edgbaston, is the guest bartender at the Brum stop of the Patron the Summer airstream UK tour.
In every city it will serve three cocktails, including a Patron Margarita, Patron Paloma with grapefruit soda and the Patronic - a tequila version of a gin and tonic.
Plus Thomas will serve his own creation at Hawker Yard in Birmingham - Patron British Summer Time, garnished with apple and mint.
He says: "I wanted to create something that would be super refreshing for the British Summer, even though it only tends to last a week, but also build in layers of flavour.
"The bergamot and apple really boost the summer vibes but the gentian and quinine provide a moreish, dry finish to the drink that makes you want to keep sipping.
"The curvature of the apple garnish has a beautiful synergy with the iconic Selfridges building in Birmingham."
The cocktail airstream will be at Hawker Yard on Pershore Street from 5pm to midnight today and from noon until midnight tomorrow.
There will also be Mexican street food traders Mexican Bean and DJ Silence.
The Patron the Summer airstream will feature an interactive mural photo wall - take a picture on your phone and tag using the #PATRONTHESUMMER hashtag and your picture will automatically be printed out on site.
