Coaching courses; FOOTBALL.

THE SKY BLUES have organised coaching courses for youngsters throughout Coventry and Warwickshire during half-term.

Coventry City's Football in the Community Scheme has booked a host of venues for two and three-day sessions for boys and girls aged between five and 13 starting on Monday, February 13.

They are: Race Leys Junior School, Bedworth' NFU sports ground, Tiddington, near Stratford' Meadow's Community Sports Centre, Kenilworth' George Eliot School, Nuneaton' North Leamington Secondary, Leamington' Dunchurch Broughton Junior, Rugby, and Alan Higgs Centre, Woodlands School, Coundon Court Secondary and Finham Park Secondary, Coventry.

Participants will receive two free tickets to a first team game at the Ricoh Arena and for more information telephone David Busst on 07766 365672.

Budding goalkeepers are also being offered the chance to improve their skills with the Sky Blues at a half-term fun session and more serious six-week coaching course.

The holiday course runs for five days from Monday, February 13, for seven to 14-year-olds at the Alan Higgs Centre in Allard Way, Coventry, costing pounds 50, while the six-week course starts on Monday, February 20, and runs every Monday until March 27 between 6-7.30pm for seven to 11-year-olds and 7.30-9pm for 12-16-year-olds, at a cost of pounds 30.

Sky Blues FA Cup hero Lloyd McGrath is also offering three and four-day football coaching courses during half term at Hawkes Mill Sports Club, Coventry, and Stratford Leisure Centre, Southam College and Shipston High School in south Warwickshire.

The sessions are for boys and girls aged five to 14 and cost pounds 36 for three days and pounds 48 for four days at the county venues while the four day Hawkes Mill course costs pounds 60 and includes a tour of Manchester United and its museum, although places are limited.

Lloyd also runs a regular Saturday soccer skills course between 9.30 and 11am, at Hawkes Mill Sports Club, costing pounds 3 for the turn up and play sessions.
