Co-op & Condo Exp celebrates 20 years.
After 20 years, the once small, insiders' trade show has grown larger than ever imagined, commensurate with a dynamic cooperative and condominium market that has expanded into the five boroughs, Westchester, Long Island and New Jersey. For this year's show, a full floor has been added, plus two more free seminars and 40 more booths, totaling 260 exhibitors on three levels.
"When the show started in the mid-1980s, apartment ownership in New York City was focused on cooperative conversions, rather than new condominium developments," points out Henry Robbins, executive vice president of Yale Robbins, Inc., the 25-year-old company that has published The Cooperator and produced the Expo since 1999.
"Between the proliferation of condominiums and escalating sales prices, owner profiles have changed. The Expo is a place where board members and savvy owners will learn about hundreds of resources in a single day."
The 20th Expo will feature six free seminars--up from four in previous years.
Admission is free, but pre-registration is requested through either the website registration page at www.coopexpo.com or the toll-free telephone registration, 1-800-893-7949.
