Clunes: NO to seedy old men; TV LAND Telly news & gossip.

Byline: Nicola Methven

MARTIN Clunes - back soon as grumpy GP Martin Ellingham in ITV's Doc Martin - has put the kibosh on a proposed sequel to sitcom Men Behaving Badly.

The 47-year-old actor fears catching up with randy pals, Gary and Tony, 15 years on - a sort of Middle-Aged Men Behaving Badly - would not be such a good idea.

"It may be seen as a bit seedy," worrie Martin, who starred alongside Neil Morrissey, Caroline Quentin and Leslie Ash in the hit 90s comedy about a pair of bachelor flatmates whose only interest was booze and birds.

"I have fond memories of the show and I am still in touch with Neil, Caroline and Leslie. "We did say we were going to do a follow-up but then Caroline didn't want to do it. Then it was suggested the boys do it without the girls but that would have been missing the point completely.

"It's best if we are left thinking that it would be nice if we all got back together, but then not actually do it."

Shame!
