Clueso expected to have all the answers again.

A BUMPER payout is on the cards for those who followed the Pricewise advice to back both Droopys Clueso and Gia Maria at 12-1 for today's Bags/SIS 500 sweepstake final at Newcastle, writes Dave Johnston.

The pair line in up at 1.44 and will start a lot shorter than their ante-post odds. Although Minty Bullet is likely to go off a warm favourite, it is difficult to look beyond the advised pair, and for those who haven't already invested the pick is Droopys Clueso.

Roz Kirk's dog, who has basically underachieved in his career to date, started his racing in openclass before enjoying success in A3 and A2 company and looks very well-in on that evidence.

With only five wins from over 50 starts, he ended a long losing run in the heats and looks ready to complete the job now he has that unmistakable scent of success in his nostrils. Kirk said: "He's very well in himself and has got an excellent chance. If he gets round the first bend safely it'll take a fast dog to beat him."

The Amanda Varley-trained Gia Maria suffered first bend crowding in the heats and gave Minty Bullet far too much rope. This time she should go round unhindered and it would be a major surprise if she isn't in the mix come the business end of the contest.
