Cloud Automation for z/OS: Cloud Compiling and First National Technology Solutions Partner to Provide Virtual Compiling as a Service for the Mainframe.

ST. PAUL, Minn. -- Cloud Compiling announced today that it has entered into a partnership with First National Technology Solutions (FNTS), a subsidiary of First National of Nebraska, to provide a state of the art data center to host Cloud Compiling SaaS, a suite of virtual language compilers for z/OS.

Included in the FNTS flexible data center solutions are safe, managed, secure and reliable hosting facilities and mainframe infrastructure. Cloud Compiling will leverage the infrastructure of FNTS to offer compiling as a service for z/OS.

A key element of FNTS' capabilities is its First National Technology Center, a tier IV, 195,000-square-foot facility that is recognized as a world-class facility located in Omaha, Nebraska. The data center is complete with redundant power sources, facility monitoring and state-of-the-art security, and was constructed to withstand high-velocity environmental impacts. The technology center and its services meet PCI DSS compliance requirements in addition to being IBM Certified.

Budd Rutter, founder at Cloud Compiling, commented, "With our Compiling as a Service solution, we maintain current language compilers for z/OS COBOL, PL/1, Fortran and C/C++, allowing our customers to immediately reduce costly investments in mainframe software licenses, and offset the challenges of a shrinking mainframe-educated work force."

Cloud Compiling SaaS makes it possible for customers to compile on z/OS more economically - and with fewer staff resources - resulting in:

* No compilers to maintain

* Fewer constraints on IT resources

* No upfront investment

* Cost savings of 50% or more in monthly compiler fees - immediately

* Ability to scale quickly

"With Cloud Compiling SaaS, we maintain native compilers on our mainframe while our customers install the Cloud Compiling technology on their mainframes. As jobs are submitted, the Cloud Compiler automatically transmits source code to the native compiler on the secure Cloud Compiling Service mainframe, compiles it there, and returns the output to the customers target datasets - without any intervention or additional steps. The entire process is seamless and invisible to application programmers", said Charles Mills, chief development officer at Cloud Compiling.

"We are eager to work with Cloud Compiling," said Kim Whittaker, vice president at FNTS. "Cloud Compiling SaaS will help customers who are struggling with IT budget constraints and a shortage of resources to support COBOL and other z/OS compilers. Given there is no upfront investment, with our partnership customers immediately reduce mainframe license fees and minimize IT resource constraints."
