Climate change due to 'geothermal activity'.
As over 15000 politicians and delegates gather in Copenhagen for the UN's Climate Change conference, a separate conference in Denmark also occurred, comprising of scientists and lobby groups.
The Copenhagen Climate Challenge brought together a cluster of scientists who believe the real causes of climate change are being overlooked and ignored.
Geothermal activity on the planet and solar activity from the sun are primary culprits for the warming experienced on the earth, the proponents at the conference said.
Professor Nils-Axel Morner, a geologist from Stockholm University, said sea level rise has also been exaggerated by the "climate alarmists" using computer models.
He said observational data from lake sediments, coast lines and trees show sea levels have remained stable.
Graham Capper of Climate Sense said manmade global warming was a myth and scientists who said otherwise were lying, according to UK's Telegraph.
"There are people who know they are lying and do it simply for money and others who think they are doing good," he said. "But they not good scientists."
The meeting was organized by Danish group Climate Sense and the lobby group Committee for a Constructive Tomorrow (CFACT).
"We think there is no consensus on climate change and there should not be a treaty from Copenhagen based on a lack of consensus," said Craig Rucker, Executive Director of CFACT. He called for the world to "do nothing until the science is clear".
The meeting will be held for two days.
