Clegg stopped in last four.

HUDDERSFIELD'S Tony Clegg lost in the UK Grand Masters billiards event for Over 50s at the semi-final stage in Nuneaton.

On his way to the last four Clegg (pictured) defeated David Rees, from Derby, where he had a century break.

That led to qualification in a four-man group and Clegg went on to beat the reigning champion Jim McCann, from Derbyshire, in the last eight before losing to the eventual winner Stoke's Peter Shelley.

Matthew Peaker lost in his last 16 game in the English Championship to Phil Mumford, from Cambridge, by 615 points losing by 1389-774.

Mumford then beat current holder Matt Sutton to reach the semis which will be played in Darley Dale in April.
