Cleckheaton duo in victory; BOWLING ROUND-UP.
The final produced some excellent bowling from both pairs, the victors establishing an early advantage, Grieve leading well on a short length mark on the edge of the green with good back-up from Harwood opening up a 9-0 lead.
From this point Briggs and Butterworth began to fight back, Briggs playing a long mark towards the corner, catching there opponents out with this longer length, scoring the next five chalks, this run eventually coming to an end, but with Grieve and Harwood only adding two singles to lead 11-5, back lose their opponents who scored at the next three ends to be only three adrift, a single to the victors, before a determined effort from Briggs and Butterworth to put them ahead by 13-12.
Unfortunately for them, some great woods from Grieve and Harwood was enough to secure a fine 15-13 victory.
