Clearing agents brief Collector Customs about problems.

PESHAWAR -- A delegation of Frontier Customs Agents Group (FCAG) Khyber Pakhutnkhwa Tuesday called on the newly posted Collector Customs Peshawar, Dr. Saeed Jadoon and congratulated him on assuming charge.

Headed by the President FCAG, Zia-ul-Haq Sarhadi, the delegation was comprised of Khalid Shehzad, Imtiaz Ahmad Ali, Asif Jamal, Mian Waheed Bacha, Ammar Ansari, Mohammad Javed, Syed Samar Abbas Shirazi and Khawar Siddique.

The customs clearing agents briefed the collector customs about the problems faced by

importers/exporters and clearing agents and demanded initiating steps for the resolution of problems faced by them at dry port, Torkham Customs Station and Bacha Khan International Airport (BKIA) Peshawar.

Customs clearing agents proposed that beside, bonded carriers, the use of private truck should also be allowed from Peshawar Dry Port to facilitate exporters.

They further highlighted the lack of railway locomotive at dry port, allowing import/export

through one customs in wake of difficulties in WeBOC, miserable conditions of Peshawar Dry Port , delay in the establishment of Azakhel Dry Port, provision of facilities at Torkham border, conditionality of Quarantine Certificate, bonded carrier and other problems faced by them.

Speaking on the occasion, Zia-ul-Haq Sarhadi said that Dr. Saeed Jadoon had already served as

Additional Director Transit Trade and Additional Collector, Customs Peshawar and is fully aware of the problems faced by them and expressed the hope that now in the capacity of Collector Customs will resolve the problems of clearing agents on priority basis.

Talking to the delegation, the Collector Customs assured all possible cooperation to the

delegation and said that he is fully aware of the problems faced by the business community and will take steps for their resolution with mutual consultations and their recommendations in this regard will be considered.
