Clearfield, Cincinnati Bell to Host FTTp Fieldtrip of Ohio MDUs, SFUs.

Broadband service providers looking to deploy fiber to their communities can benefit from the experience of industry experts when Cincinnati Bell (CBT) (NYSE:CBB) and Clearfield, Inc. (Nasdaq:CLFD) team up to host a Fiber to the Premise (FTTp) Field trip at OSP EXPO, September 12, 2011 in Cincinnati, Ohio.

Participants will hear from CBT and its fiber management and protection partner, Clearfield, on the lessons these industry leaders have learned working together. Additionally, attendees will witness the network in action at locations where fiber has been installed at both multiple dwelling units (MDU) and single family units (SFU) build locations.

CBT, which has standardized on Clearfield's FieldSmart fiber management architecture in its Fioptics fiber-optic cable system deployment, has passed 80,000 premises throughout Cincinnati to date. CBT is recording a 40 percent take rate, which is considered impressive by industry standards. With this success, CBT is in the process of passing 70,000 additional homes.

The field trip forum will provide participants unique insights into the successful processes and partnership. "Other telcos in surrounding communities have long benefited by CBT's willingness to share their experience," commented Johnny Hill, chief operating officer for Clearfield. "This is a wonderful example of their pioneering leadership and an extension of their influence to a broader, national audience."

Telecom-based broadband service providers are invited to participate, but space is limited, register now for this event and OSP EXPO at http://www.ospmag.com/expo. There is a registration fee of $99, with 100 percent of the money being donated to benefit St. Jude Children's Research Hospital.
