Cleaner's dirty trick.

A CLEANER stole jewellery worth pounds 2700 from her OAP employer, who was in hospital.

Elizabeth Waddell, 59, had worked for the woman and her husband for a few weeks.

Fiscal depute Lucy Keane yesterday told Perth Sheriff Court: "The lady had to go to hospital for treatment. When she got out, she noticed items of jewellery were missing."

Suspicion fell on the only person who had access to the house. Waddell, of Pendicle, Perthshire, admitted stealing jewellery from the property in Perth on April 6.

She was ordered to carry out 160 hours' community service.
