Natural gas company Clean Energy Fuels (NASDAQ:CLNE) revealed on Friday the election of Robert Vreeland as its chief financial officer.

Effective immediately, Vreeland is replacing the company's outgoing CFO Richard Wheeler, who plans to pursue other interests.

Prior to the promotion, Vreeland served as vice president of Finance and Accounting at the company from 2012 to 2014.

Previously, Vreeland was a consultant at RV CPA Services PLLC, an interim CFO, senior vice president, corporate controller, senior vice president, Operations and vice president of Financial Planning and Analysis at Hypercom as well as spending 12 years at Coopers & Lybrand.
