Classics ready for Mini tour; CLASSIC RALLYING.
The one-day event was conceived as a taster for competitors who have yet to participate on the three-day Tour Britannia for classic cars, but it has in fact attracted entries from Tour stalwarts as well as newcomers.
Runners in the competition class will tackle 10 special stages at five venues as well as a 30-minute race at Anglesey Circuit, while regularity competitors will be put through their paces on the classic North Wales roads as well as having the opportunity to attempt special tests.
Among the special stages is the host town's classic Great Orme as well as the historic venues of Penrhyn Castle and Vaynol Estate.
Event organiser Alec Poole said: "When Llandudno Council agreed to let us use the Great Orme Marine Drive and Anglesey Circuit said we could have access to their track, we knew Mini Britannia would work.
"Both of these venues were nucleus to the success of Tour Britannia 2010. With the addition of the other four venues, we believe we have put together a real challenge for any Historic Motorsport competitor."
The entry list includes Yvonne Mehta, wife of late rally legend Shekhar Mehta. In an illustrious World Rallying career, Shekhar claimed five victories on the East African Safari Rally, with the first of them coming in 1973 in a Datsun 240Z.
Yvonne - a regular co-driver for her husband - will team up with Tour Britannia regular Brad Mottier in his immaculate works replica 240Z.
