Classic Christie whodunit.

GATHA Christie's legendary whodunit The Mousetrap is heading to Coventry.

AFollowing its record-breaking 60th anniversary tour in 2012, the unstoppable West End hit is back by popular demand, touring the length and breadth of the country for audiences to discover Christie's macabre murder mystery live on stage. Gwyneth Strong will play Mrs Boyle. Best known for her roles as Cassandra in Only Fools and Horses and as Geraldine Clough in EastEnders, Gwyneth has also appeared in The Great Train Robbery, Silent Witness, Casualty, Doctors and Murder in Suburbia.

First staged in Nottingham in 1952 starring Richard Attenborough and his wife Sheila Sim, The Mousetrap went on to become the world's longest running stage production following its West End transfers to The Ambassadors in 1952 and St Martins in 1973, where it has played ever since, with a record-breaking run with over 27,500 performances so far.

Having delighted theatre-goers for an incredible 67 years, The Mousetrap is going back on the road following the success of the first ever UK tour in 2012, while continuing its open-ended run at St Martin's Theatre London.

Expect shuddering suspense and a brilliantly intricate plot where murder lurks around every corner when The Mousetrap comes to the Belgrade Theatre, Coventry, from April 8-13.
