Clasical musical night mesmerizes audience at PNCA.

ISLAMABAD -- Leading classical singer Hamid Ali Khan here Tuesday evening mesmerized the audience with his fabulous performance at a musical evening arranged at Pakistan National Council of the Arts (PNCA) auditorium.

The event titled "An Evening with Hanid Ali Khan" was organized by PNCA, with the aim to promote classical and ghazal singing and to pay tribute to the classical artists.

Hamid Ali Khan, a popular name of Patiala Gharana and son of Ustad Akhtar Hussain Khan spellbound the audience with his mastery over classical singing and received overwhelming appreciation.

He has played a great role in promoting classical and ghazal singing and has earned name for the country while representing Pakistan all over the world, in addition to this he has also received the pride of performance award, sitara eimtiaz, lifetime achievement award and many more.

An official at PNCA talking to reporter said, the programme of musical night is a regular feature of PNCA's activities to acknowledge the skills of the musicians and artistes and give them proper recognition. The institution focuses on traditional music by inviting popular artistes to highlight their services as well as preserve musical heritage of the country, he added.

"Pakistan has rich cultural heritage, which needs to be preserved and promoted for improving soft image of the country worldwide". Various initiatives of PNCA endeavor to preserve the musical heritage of Pakistan with proper documentation in the field and educating youth about the value of their great heritage, he acknowledged.

Hamid Ali Khan with his mastery classical modes, heartrending and highpitched voice touched the hearts of the audience. "Maino tera jia sohna hor labda na, Umran langian paban phar, honton pe kabi unke mera nam b aiye, dil main methe methe dard, piyar nahi jisko sur se and Inshajee utho ab kooch karo" were highly applauded songs by the audience.
