Civil Defence urges compliance with safety instruction.

Manama, Feb. 14 (BNA): A total of fire-related incidents resulting from negligence were reported in 2015, General Director of civil Defence said. He cited the lack of periodic maintenance of electrical appliances or leaving the mobile phones on the charger for long period.

In a statement today, he stressed the importance of enhancing the awareness of the public to avoid poor quality electrical appliances and buy and use cables and wires that meet safety specifications. He underlined the need to avoid overloading electricity adapters by connecting them with many devices at the same time. He warned against the use of hoverboard self-balancing smart scooters, pointed out that they risk to explode while being charged. He urged the public to comply with safety instructions to protect lives and properties.
